Starting a Revolution
…and I think its going to be a painful revolution at times. ;-)
So I’m a sucker for a challenging workout. I admit it ~ I like things that can push me further and make me achieve things I never thought possible. Last year I did the Insanity workout and let me tell you, the name says it all! It was intense. I did see results but not as much as I hoped. I definitely lost some inches and gained a lot of endurance and flexibility though.
I’ve been training over the last year with my personal trainers and it has been a fantastic experience. I’ve learned a lot and I’m feeling more confident in my ability to plan workouts. Recently, however, I saw a link to Jillian Michael’s new workout series: Body Revolution. I was immediately intrigued! Partly because the workouts looked great and got great results, but also because I knew that the accompanying food plan would be right up my alley.
Jillian’s book, “Master Your Metabolism” is what really got me started on my healthy, cutting out the junk way of eating. It was so inspiring to me and full of great info. I highly recommend it! She and I have a lot of the same school of thought on what you should and shouldn’t eat.
I received the whole kit last Fri and let me say, it didn’t let me down! I was thrilled to see the healthy eating plan with great, real food! My plan is to do the workout and meal plan as is for the 90 days. I realize that there will be times when “life happens” and that’s fine but for the most part I’m going to stick with it. The program is made for weight loss and, honestly, I don’t have much weight to lose. My hope is to lose fat, gain muscle, and be strong and healthy. That said, if the “diet” portion of it turns out to make me lose too much, I’ll just add in another healthy snack or up my meal portions a bit to even out the calories.
And really this couldn’t have come at a better time… I recently went in for my every 5 year blood test and unfortunately my cholesterol is still high. :( This is in large part a hereditary thing that I’ve had even since childhood when I was stick thin, however I know that extra good eating choices and losing the extra abdomen fat that I carry would likely help the numbers. My dr. wanted to put me on meds :( :( :( [yeah that's super sucky], but gave me the option of giving it 3 months of improving my eating/exercise more and then retesting. Three Months…hmmm… 90 days = 3 Months. What better inspiration can there be than to possibly avoid having to take meds?
So this will definitely be an interesting experiment! I have more motivation than ever. I plan to weigh in, do all my measurements, etc by this weekend and start on Monday. I will keep the progress posted on this blog as I go. I haven’t decided yet how often I’ll do re-measurements…possibly twice/month…and I’ll weigh in weekly just to make sure I don’t lose too much at any point.
Here’s to a new adventure :)

You can do it! Let me know how you like it, I was looking into it for awhile. I like things that push me also. The hard part for me is planning to do it in my life, as life tends to get in the way. Good Luck

You can do it Sister! I admire your hard work. I’m NOT motivated by workouts that push you. But I do enjoy how I feel after I exercise :)
Can’t wait to keep tabs on how you’re doing!
